Electrical Projects

Theatrical Lighting & Stage Systems

Electrical work supporting theatrical lighting systems and stage requirements, with hands-on experience in hanging, focusing, gel selection, and technical execution across live productions.

CAB After Death

This project emphasized adaptability, collaboration, and efficiency within a fast-paced, student-led production environment.

For CAB After Death, I was a designer, electrician, and operator through hands-on technical work during installation and preparation for performance. Responsibilities included assisting with hanging fixtures, focusing lighting units, and supporting cue preparation to achieve the production’s atmospheric lighting goals.

Lighting Design: Course

Lighting design projects focused on concept development, cue creation, and visual storytelling through color, rhythm, and spatial awareness.

Light to Song: “Pink Pony Club”

My inspiration centered on exploring how pink can be represented through texture and light. Visual references included disco balls, stained glass, water reflections, candy-themed interiors, early Dolly Parton performances, Chappell Roan’s Grammy performance, and Dancing with the Stars. Complementary blues, purples, and reds were used to deepen the pink tones.

The climax was designed to feel chaotic and celebratory—evoking a house party atmosphere inspired by roller rinks, arcade carpets, and playful lighting effects.

For this project, I selected a song and designed lighting for a live performance. I chose “Pink Pony Club” because of its energetic peaks, transitions, and familiarity.

Light to Song: “Higher Love”

My inspiration centered on exploring how the color palette mainly consisted of reds and oranges. Visual references included original Elvis recordings, Elvis impersonation performances in Memphis and Vegas, The Rocky Horror Picture Show, and early Dolly Parton performances. Complementary blues, purples, and reds were used to differentiate the song’s moods.

For this project, I was assigned “Higher Love” from Honeymoon in Vegas. The class was instructed not to watch live performances, so I gathered context by speaking with individuals familiar with the musical.

Light Board Operating

Light board operating experience supporting theatrical productions through precise cue execution, real-time responsiveness, and close collaboration with lighting designers and technical teams. Work includes running live performances, maintaining cue timing, adjusting levels during performance, and supporting the visual storytelling of each production through accurate and consistent lighting control.

Riot Grrrls: Measure for Measure

For Riot Grrrls: Measure for Measure, I operated the lighting board for an all-women Shakespeare production that integrated live music into both the pre-show and intermission. The production required close coordination between lighting, music, and performance timing to maintain rhythm and atmosphere throughout the show.

This project emphasized precision, responsiveness, and collaboration in a live performance setting where lighting supported both theatrical storytelling and musical elements.

Christmas String Ensemble Concert

For this project I was a designer and programmer. The main focus was a full stage wash. The instruments used were six ETC Source 4s. Mostly focused on the main full plain of the stage and midway up the back wall, to highlight all of the musicians.

A Midsummer Night’s Dream

The project required collaboration across departments and attention to both creative intent and technical precision during installation and focus calls.

For A Midsummer Night’s Dream, I contributed to the electrical and lighting implementation of the production by assisting with hanging lighting instruments, cutting and placing gels, and focusing specials. This work supported the lighting design’s visual clarity and ensured lighting elements were safely and accurately installed to meet production needs.

Explore Additional Theatrical Work

Beyond academic coursework, my theatrical experience includes hands-on production work across multiple technical and scenic disciplines. These areas reflect my collaborative approach to theatre-making and my interest in supporting performance through practical execution and design.
